The scheme was developed on the former Worker man’s hall in Abercynon. The Super Structures were demolished over 20 years ago and the land unfortunately, has been an eye sore for many years. We successfully tendered this scheme and commenced work just over 3 months after entering into contract following the speedy discharging of the planning conditions and entering into the Section agreements. The project being on a brownfield and shares a lot of similarities with the Trebanog development, so we are well versed in dealing with brown field developments.
The super structures were delivered via our Steel Frame system achieving u values in the wall as low as 0.12. The Heating system was a Mitsubishi heat pump and low temperature plumbing and rads. This was supplemented with System 3 ventilation and Photo Voltaic panels. In combination all units achieved EPC A 92 with many achieving close to 100.
